The music curriculum includes individual and group performance, correct vocal techniques, appropriate audience behavior, and the appreciation of major works, composers, and styles of music. Concerts, musical presentations, and drama groups enhance music appreciation and give students the confidence to
perform in front of an audience. Many performance opportunities are available throughout the school year for children at all grade levels. Students and parents look forward to many annual events such as the Thanksgiving Program, Holiday Program, Grandparents' Day, and the Eighth Grade Musical.
In middle school, students who love singing and performing are able to participate in the Harbor Day Singers group. The Harbor Day Singers aim to learn the value of commitment and teamwork through artistic expression. This group comes together to improve their existing singing, dancing, and performing skills. They create awe-inspiring performances that all can enjoy. Students have performed at CHOC, the Oasis Senior Center, Harbor Day assemblies, and concerts.
