Tuition and Financial Aid

Invest in your child's future.

We are so glad you are here. Tuition is essential to enable Harbor Day School to provide the best quality education with small class sizes, a more advanced curriculum, and enriching programs with supportive and dedicated educators. The value of our private independent primary school is also demonstrated by the success of Harbor Day alumni in high school and college.

Beginning in 2018, a provision of the new tax code allows families to spend up to $10,000 per student annually from a 529 savings plan on K-12 education. This may be a viable option for paying your child’s tuition.

Tuition

Tuition for the 2024-2025 academic school year is $35,500 for grades K-8. Harbor Day’s tuition includes all field trips, school supplies, athletics, one-to-one iPads in all grades, and the yearbook.

Payment Plans

The deposit for the 2024-2025 school year is $3,400, approximately 10% of the tuition.

The balance of the tuition may be paid using one of three payment plan options:

One-Payment Plan: a tuition payment of $32,100 will be due on May 1, 2024.
Two-Payment Plan: tuition payments of $22,470 due on May 1, 2024, and $9,630 due on November 1, 2024.
Ten-Payment Plan: Ten monthly payments of $3,210 beginning on May 1, 2024, and concluding on February 1, 2025. Tuition refund plan must be purchased for all 10-pay plans at an annual cost of $375 per student. The plan payment is due on May 1, 2024.

Tuition Payments will be made through Blackbaud Tuition Management. Blackbaud Tuition Management accounts are established with the submittal of the enrollment contract and deposit.

Financial Assistance

All interested families are encouraged to apply. The deadline to apply for financial assistance for the 2025-26 school year is February 3, 2025. Grants are subject to the availability of funds and are based on a variety of factors.

An administrative committee makes financial assistance recommendations and considers financial need based on a family's application submitted for independent assessment. Admission decisions are need-blind. The applicant's family's financial need will not be taken into consideration during the decision process. All applications and decisions are administered by the school’s business office. All information is kept strictly confidential. Please direct any questions to the Director of Finance, David Royal, at droyal@harborday.org. Once our financial assistance application is available we will post the information here.
