While our teachers and students wrap up the first quarter of the academic year, the construction team continues to work on completing Phase 2 of Harbor Day’s New Campus Project. We have all enjoyed watching the building grow larger and taller before our eyes. The final blocks and grouting on this 33,000-square-foot structure were placed on Monday, October 24. Soon afterward, a crane will be installed inside the gymnasium to bring steel to the east side of the structure. About a week later, a larger crane will arrive to handle steel for the remainder of the structure. Placing steel is the first step in building the roof, which should be completed by the end of February.
Next school year, we will enjoy the completed new campus. Phase 2 provides HDS with the following spaces:
Theater complete with mezzanine seating and a welcoming lobby
2 music classrooms
2 locker rooms
Athletic field with track
Playground with swings and playground equipment
Hard courts equipped and striped for volleyball, basketball, and pickleball
