HDS Receives Youth for Hope Award from Project Hope Alliance
For the past ten years, Harbor Day School has partnered with Project Hope Alliance (PHA), a local nonprofit dedicated to breaking the cycle of homelessness for children. This long-standing partnership has yielded significant results, and PHA recognized Harbor Day School with the 2023 Youth for Hope award at their annual gala event on April 22. Harbor Day School’s involvement with PHA has taken on many forms, including back in 2013 with middle school students who collected food pantry items and served as role models for over 20 children at the Skyview School in Orange.
In 2014, Harbor Day School hosted the Motel Exhibit on campus, designed to represent the poor living conditions of many homeless families in Orange County. More recently, HDS has organized service days, collected school supplies, participated in Thanksgiving food drives, and created Stockings of Hope. By partnering with PHA, Harbor Day School has supported a worthy cause and brought the school community together around a shared goal.
