Latin Convention Brings Home More Winners!

Magistra Robinson
HDS brings home 24 ribbons and the 3rd Place overall in our Middle School division!

Over the weekend of April 13-15, 2018, seventeen Latin students traveled to San Francisco to attend the CJCL Latin State Convention. The Menlo School hosted the event this year for 1,500 attendees from 43 schools from all parts of California. There were 150 in their specific academic division and 300 middle schoolers in all. Our students competed with other middle schoolers and sometimes high school students as well in academic, writing, mythology, art, STEM, and sport competitions. Students earned 2 academic test ribbons, many ribbons in slogan, poetry, and essay writing, awards for art projects, our digital scrapbook, and placed in two group contests. Good weather, warm hospitality, and lots of fun activities produced a lot of smiles and fun times. Magistra Robinson and all the students offer a special thank you to our chaperones, Mrs. Santry and Mr. Robinson.
