On January 18, eleven upper school students took center stage for our annual Geography Bee competition put on by National Geographic. The questions ranged from beginner to advanced. The students did an admirable job answering some challenging questions like, “The endangered snow leopard is being protected in the Annapurna Conservation Area, which includes the Annapurna Massif in which Asian Culture?” (see answer at the bottom of this page). After multiple rounds, the group dwindled down to two strong geographers, Andrew D. in eighth grade and Elliott C. in sixth grade. The last round was very tough but Andrew D. was able to secure the Bee win. He will move on to qualify for the State Bee held in Sacramento on March 30. We wish Andrew the best of luck. Congratulations to all our finalists.
