Middle School Curriculum
Welcome to Middle School!
Thank you for visiting our middle school curriculum page. The middle school curriculum builds upon the foundation laid in the lower school, expanding and reinforcing concepts in mathematics, language arts, social studies, science, and world language. Additional classes in art, music, technology and design, and physical education provide a well-balanced education. In every subject, critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity are emphasized.
Equally important, the middle school experience places a strong emphasis on character education and moral development. Each student in sixth through eighth grade is paired with an advisor who serves as an advocate and role model throughout the year. Trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship form the core of our character education program, integrated into our students’ daily lives, whether it be in the classroom, on the athletic field, or in advisory sessions.
Please browse through our website to learn more about our core curriculum and complementary learning programs, which enable the holistic development of our students to succeed at Harbor Day and beyond.
Sincerely,
Susan Johnson
Director of Middle School
