I start my Harbor Day School days with a joyful ritual. I greet our students at morning carpool by name by opening their car doors and shaking their hands. School visitors have commented that our students, even our junior high students, arrive at our campus with eager smiles. Harbor Day School’s student-centered atmosphere allows students to learn and grow in a happy place.
Established over sixty years ago, Harbor Day School proudly offers a rigorous course of study for our students that covers a wide range of disciplines from woodworking and design in our well-appointed woodshop to three world languages (Chinese, Latin, and Spanish), a robust technology program, and visual and performing arts in addition to our core subjects. We boast of our alumni attending the finest colleges and universities in the nation. Many alumni return to HDS to tell us that they now realize that their Harbor Day School education was the most impactful and useful education that they received in their academic career.
We reach our academic objectives while celebrating annual events that provide fun and memories for students and families. At Thanksgiving, our Turkey Bowl includes athletics for the older students and a musical program for the younger students. We also enjoy our annual Back-to-School Picnic, Grandparents’ Day, Fall Benefit, Blue-Gold track meet, Eighth Grade Musical, Maker Faire, service days, and holiday performances.
I encourage you to visit Harbor Day School in person. We would love to show you what makes Harbor Day School special.
