Seventh grader Jack Ressler is paving new ground in tackle football for Harbor Day students. Playing for the undefeated Cerritos Vypers, Jack led his team to a perfect 15-0 season winning the regionals, the CA Flo League Super Bowl, and The American Youth Football's National Championship in Orlando Florida.
Jack's football career began on a flag football team with other HDS teammates. At age 5, he launched into tackle football, and then was recruited to play with the illustrious Vypers 12u unlimited weight team. Three-hour practices, four days a week, along with reliable hands, natural speed and a great work ethic, have put him in the running for the League's Heisman Trophy. Jack can be found on both sides of the line, as a wide receiver, field-goal kicker, punt and kickoff return specialist and defensive play-maker. Scoring 19 touchdowns, he logged 907 all-purpose yards and 14 QB sacks. Jack was also the Flo League Super Bowl MVP.
With a record like that, Jack's football sights stretch out long. He looks forward to playing college football and then for the NFL. HDS will be cheering him on through the journey!
